Celebrating the Power of Women's Empowerment

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible women of Arts to End Genocide (AtEG) who are rewriting the story of empowerment in Mali. Through dedication, resilience, and a shared vision for change, these women are transforming their lives and communities one stitch at a time.
Among these remarkable individuals stands Fati Maiga, a true inspiration and leader within the AtEG family. From her humble beginnings as a midwife to becoming a skilled seamstress and entrepreneur, Fati’s journey embodies the spirit of resilience and determination.
But Fati’s story is just one chapter in AtEG’s larger narrative of impact and empowerment. Thanks to the generous support of the PGAF grant, AtEG is expanding its reach to train 180 women in soap-making, braiding/plaiting, dying, milk processing, henna, and pottery. Trainees will be residents of Faladie as well as the IDP camp in Zantiguila. The camp is for those displaced by terrorists and made to live in a camp built over an active garbage dump. The women involved will not only gain valuable skills but also improve living conditions for more than 1000 members of the community.
The PGAF would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsoring alum, James Bisbee, who spent 24 years at P&G in PSO in the U.S. James’s commitment to empowering women and communities is creating the ability to create lasting change.
