Geneva Chapter: Define Your Edge: Crafting Your Personal Value Proposition with Sophie Blum

Last night, the P&G Alumni Geneva community came together for a deeply reflective and energising session with Sophie Blum around one powerful question: What is your edge?

Not your title.
Not your years of experience.
Not the list of responsibilities on a CV.

But the unique way you consistently create impact, move people forward, simplify complexity, drive change, build trust, or bring clarity when it matters most.

The conversation challenged many of us to rethink the way we talk about ourselves and our careers. Because at senior levels, experience becomes the baseline. What truly differentiates leaders is the ability to clearly articulate the value they uniquely bring — and the reputation they intentionally build around it.

One insight particularly stayed with me: Your edge often hides inside patterns others see before you do.

The feedback that keeps repeating.
The problems people naturally trust you to solve.
The situations where you operate at your very best.

What made the evening special was the honesty in the room. This was not about creating polished corporate personas. It was about self-awareness, alignment and courage — understanding what you stand for, where you thrive, and the kind of impact you want to leave behind.

And of course, beyond the session itself, the real magic of alumni communities happened: meaningful conversations, new connections, shared ambitions, laughter, vulnerability and mutual support.
