Doug Bowser is the retired President & CEO of Nintendo of America, and current Board Member of Hasbro.
Doug is a sales and marketing executive whose nearly four-decade career runs from consumer goods to video games, having led Nintendo of America through a decade of historic growth. Doug led operations across the Americas from 2019 through the end of 2025. During his tenure, Nintendo grew on the strength of the Nintendo Switch — one of the best-selling video game platforms of all time — and he oversaw the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, which became the best-selling console of all time in its initial sales period. Doug also expanded Nintendo’s licensed merchandise business, opened the company’s San Francisco flagship store, and led its re-entry into the Brazilian market. Prior to joining Nintendo, Doug spent 8 years at Electronic Arts, most recently as Vice President of Global Business Planning, and before that, he spent 23 years at Procter & Gamble in sales leadership roles across Asia, Latin America, and the United States. Doug earned his degree in Communications from the University of Utah — where he later returned as Distinguished Alumnus and commencement speaker, and where, playing endless hours of Donkey Kong, he first fell for video games. Today he serves as an Independent Director on the board of Hasbro.

ES Recorded Webinar: Creating truly inclusive cultures in a divisive and changing world with René Bujard

Creating Truly Inclusive Cultures in a Divisive and Changing World
DEI is one of the most talked-about strategies in business today, and one of the most misunderstood. Well-intentioned leaders are leaving real organizational value on the table, not because they don’t care, but because the playbook they’re working from is incomplete.
This session is a challenge to think differently.
René Bujard has spent 20+ years building inclusive cultures across some of the world’s most complex organizations: P&G, Oxfam International, Galderma, and now Sunstar Group, a 90-year-old global family business headquartered in Switzerland. He has done this work across corporate, nonprofit, private equity, and family-owned sectors, in environments where the stakes are high and the politics are real.
His argument: DEI isn’t a values exercise. It’s an organizational strategy with measurable impact on engagement, development, and business results, and most organizations are only scratching the surface of what’s possible.
Come ready to engage. This one won’t leave you where it finds you.
Recorded Webinar Boston Chapter Board Series: How successful directors earn trust and create value
Published June 23, 2026 by Elsie Gallegos in
Getting appointed to a board is only the beginning. The real challenge is becoming a board director who creates meaningful value, earns trust quickly, and contributes effectively across very different boardroom dynamics.
Strong board directors combine preparation, judgment, communication, and self-awareness. They know when to challenge, when to support, and how to contribute without overstepping into management. Yet many professionals enter the boardroom without fully understanding what successful board participation looks like in practice. In this webinar, we explore what separates effective board directors from those who struggle to gain influence or impact.
Bringing together perspectives from experienced board leaders, operators, and Boardway’s data-driven insights, we discuss the practical tools, behaviors, and intentions that help directors succeed once they are in the room. More importantly, attendees will walk away with practical guidance on how to prepare for board service, navigate board dynamics, contribute with credibility, and continue evolving as a trusted board member over time.
