Geneva Chapter: Define Your Edge: Crafting Your Personal Value Proposition with Sophie Blum
Published September 21, 2026 by Elsie Gallegos in
Last night, the P&G Alumni Geneva community came together for a deeply reflective and energising session with Sophie Blum around one powerful question: What is your edge?
Not your title.
Not your years of experience.
Not the list of responsibilities on a CV.
But the unique way you consistently create impact, move people forward, simplify complexity, drive change, build trust, or bring clarity when it matters most.
The conversation challenged many of us to rethink the way we talk about ourselves and our careers. Because at senior levels, experience becomes the baseline. What truly differentiates leaders is the ability to clearly articulate the value they uniquely bring — and the reputation they intentionally build around it.
One insight particularly stayed with me: Your edge often hides inside patterns others see before you do.
The feedback that keeps repeating.
The problems people naturally trust you to solve.
The situations where you operate at your very best.
What made the evening special was the honesty in the room. This was not about creating polished corporate personas. It was about self-awareness, alignment and courage — understanding what you stand for, where you thrive, and the kind of impact you want to leave behind.
And of course, beyond the session itself, the real magic of alumni communities happened: meaningful conversations, new connections, shared ambitions, laughter, vulnerability and mutual support.
A huge thank you to Sophie Blum for flying in from Dubai and leading such a thoughtful, sharp and inspiring discussion with so much authenticity and generosity.
Thank you as well to the incredible team who helped me bring this evening to life: Lukasz Stebelski, Yaël Straver-Lerys , Nicolas Thiebaut , Amaury Marchandise , Anke Hampel , Ioanna Kournioti Igglesis and Sandra Muller 🙏
And a special thank you to SeedWorks for welcoming us in such a vibrant and entrepreneurial environment — a place built for innovators, builders, creators and bold conversations. Huge thanks as well to Amaury Marchandise for making the connection possible, and to Félicien Fleury for hosting our community so warmly.
Already looking forward to the next conversation. Because sometimes the most important career question is not “What have you done?” — but “What will people remember you for?”
Thirsty for a Miracle: Greg Allgood's Journey to Clean Water
Published by pgalums in
Dr. Greg Allgood is a scientist, marketer, adventurer, husband, father. Greg is currently Vice President of Water and Health at World Vision, a global humanitarian, development, and advocacy organization operating in 100 countries, and dedicated to helping vulnerable children, families, and communities overcome extreme poverty and injustice.
Greg is also author of the new memoir Thirsty for a Miracle, a very inspiring read about how one imperfect person finds a purpose much larger than themself.
Greg is a longtime P&G Alum, and recipient of the John Pepper Humanitarian Award. Greg spent nearly 27 years at P&G, where he founded the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program, the P&G Nutrition Science Institute, and the P&G Health Sciences Institute. Under that program, P&G would go on to provide more than 23 BILLION liters of clean water to people in the developing world. Greg then made the leap to World Vision, where under his leadership the organization became the largest NGO provider of clean water on the planet — between 2016 and 2025 alone, his team reached 34 million people with clean water (more than the population of Texas).
Greg’s new memoir, Thirsty for a Miracle, doesn’t just talk stories of corporate battles, celebrity partnerships, and flying into disaster zones — but more importantly, the stories of Greg’s own personal transformation in character and faith along the way. Greg and his book have ringing endorsements from friends of the pod like John Pepper, Bob McDonald, Charlotte Otto, Marc Pritchard, Jim Stengel, and so many more. And ALL profits from the book, go straight to World Vision Water.

Your Name Opens Doors: How PGAF Grants Multiply Impact
Published by pgalums in
PGAF’s $230,000 in grants helped our grantees raise over $800,000 in additional funding.
There’s something powerful that happens when a nonprofit can say: “The P&G Alumni Foundation believes in us.” Your Name Opens Doors That Money Alone Cannot.
We do an evaluation, two years after an award is given to understand the impact. For our 2024 winners, — because the P&G brand doesn’t just write checks, it confers credibility. The Aruna Project in India, which empowers survivors of sex trafficking, raised $425,000 in grant revenue — citing PGAF recognition as a key credibility-builder with donors and even in Washington D.C. advocacy. Cincinnati Youth Collaborative leveraged their PGAF award to unlock $220,000 from five foundations. Trust to Achieve in Switzerland attracted $103,000 from three additional foundations. Chamos in Venezuela reports the PGAF “Seal of Approval” is “opening doors to high-level conversations with potential partners” that would otherwise be out of reach.
A PGAF grant doesn’t just fund a program — it validates an organization, attracts new donors, and multiplies impact far beyond our dollars.
When we invest, the world invests with us. That’s the power of the P&G Alumni Foundation.
WLF Recording: The Leadership Partnership No One Teaches You: Unlocking the Power Between the C-Suite and the Boardroom
Published September 14, 2026 by Elsie Gallegos in
While CEOs are expected to manage boards and directors are expected to govern companies, little attention is given to the critical relationship between the broader C-suite and the Board of Directors. Yet this often-overlooked partnership can be a powerful catalyst for stronger decision-making, accelerated leadership development, better governance, and superior business outcomes.
Drawing on academic research and real-world executive experience, Dr. Kim Whitler and Debra Bass will explore how organizations can move beyond traditional reporting relationships to build meaningful connections between senior leaders and directors.
The discussion will uncover opportunities to clarify roles, improve onboarding, foster trust, and create more productive engagement that helps both executives and boards maximize their impact on company success.
Featuring P&G Alumnae: Kim Whitler, Frank M. Sands Sr. Professor of Business Administration, Darden School of Business, and WLF Board Member Debra Bass, Bass Collective, LLC

Introducing the Keystone Award
In architecture, the keystone is the piece that holds everything together. Today, the P&G Alumni Network board announces our first Keystone Award. It will be given out very infrequently and only to an individual who, by their actions, has enabled the Network to exist, thrive, and grow into a community where we can all belong.
Our first Keystone Award recipient is AG Lafley.
Up until the year 2000, when someone left Procter & Gamble, other than as a retiree, they were cut off from the Company. That all changed in the summer of 2000 when, at a reunion of P&G alumni in Chicago, AG Lafley – who had been named President and CEO just the day before – arrived at that reunion and spoke. By this one simple act, AG demonstrated that even after leaders left the company they still belonged to the broader P&G family.
That was the impetus for a handful of alumni to create the P&G Alumni Network. And throughout his tenure as CEO of the Company, AG provided the critical support necessary for the Network to grow and thrive. It is for these reasons – his commitment, his support, and his belief in what this Network is and can be – we honor AG Lafley as our first Keystone Award recipient.
The award will be presented at the Global Conference in Cincinnati next Spring. Join us in honoring him.

Don't Just Look for Your Next Job. Define Your Next Chapter.
Published by pgalums in
When change comes to your career – by choice or circumstance – the instinct is often to get moving.
Update the CV. Refresh LinkedIn. Call your network. See what’s out there.
But what if the most valuable thing you could do first is not look for your next job?
After years, sometimes decades, of building experience and succeeding in an organization, it can be tempting to define what comes next by what you have done before. Yet you are not the same professional you were when you made your last major career choice.
Your strengths have deepened. Your priorities may have shifted. What energizes you may have changed. And what success means to you today may be very different from what it meant in the past.
So before asking “what can I do next?”, consider three different questions:
1. What do I want more of in my next chapter?
Think beyond title and status. What kind of work, contribution, environment and life do you want?
2. What value do I bring -wherever I go next?
Years inside one organization can make it surprisingly difficult to separate your job description from the strengths, experience and value that are uniquely yours.
3. What does success mean to me now?
Not to your organization. Not to the market. Not to the person you were earlier in your career. To you, today.
Your answers may point towards another corporate role. Or towards a different industry, consulting, entrepreneurship, a portfolio career, greater flexibility, or a possibility you haven’t considered yet.
The goal isn’t to reinvent yourself for the sake of reinvention.
It’s to make your experience work for who you are now and for where you genuinely want to go next.
Because there is an important difference between finding what’s available and choosing what’s right for you.
Ready to take the first step towards defining, not simply finding, what comes next? Book a free consult and access exclusive rates with one of our ICF-certified P&G alumni coaches.
The Chance to Pay It Forward
Published September 7, 2026 by pgalums in
P&G Gave Us the Tools to Change the World. Now It’s Our Turn.
Close your eyes and remember the moment someone at P&G believed in you before you believed in yourself. The mentor who stayed late. The stretch assignment that terrified you — until it didn’t. The values that still whisper to you in hard decisions today.
P&G didn’t just build careers. It built us.
Gratitude isn’t just a feeling — it’s an action. Right now, alumni like you are putting Gratitude in Action: doubling their impact through matching grants, becoming Grant Champions who fund the causes closest to their hearts, and rallying friends and fellow alumni to multiply the reach.
Because of that gratitude in motion, a woman escapes trafficking. A family climbs out of poverty. A young person discovers, for the first time, what they’re capable of.
The education was priceless. The chance to pay it forward is yours.

Procter & Gamble Italia Alumni Foundation (PGAIF) is driving real change through social inclusion and employment.
Aula 162, with Next Association and the PGAIF, matches company hiring needs with tailored training (soft skills, language support, housing help) giving vulnerable individuals a path into work. Results so far: 6 classrooms, 81 trained, 45 hired.
With ELIS, they’re launching EmpowerHer, established in honour of Francie Garber Pepper, training 15 NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) women in Rome in Customer Care skills, building toward a December Career Day and potential hiring.
Through FASt Track to Work with McDonald’s, 10 young refugees in Italy completed training, with 8 already hired at a store managed by a P&G alum.
PGAIF are also funding a new kitchen in a group home for youth with autism, building practical independence skills and a meaningful way for P&G employees to get involved.
And through Cook & Restart, part of our Mestieri Program, they’re training 30 people from vulnerable backgrounds, targeting an 80% hiring rate.
Real skills. Real jobs. Real dignity.
